To friends of the VFW

As many of you know, the highest priority for the VFW is service to our nation’s veterans. Saipan Post 3457 formally adopted Saipan’s army reserve unit, Echo Company, 100th Bn/442d Infantry. Virtually the entire unit was deployed to Iraq. They have been there for more than a year. They are scheduled to return in early 2006. Our Post has started preparing to celebrate that event.

As part of our fundraising for homecoming we commissioned “Welcome Home Echo Company” wristbands. We ordered 2,000 bands. Some 1,500 were distributed within the first 24 hours. If you haven’t seen them on someone’s wrist yet, you soon will.

There are not many bands left but, since demand is so high, I expect we will order more soon. In the meantime, if you would like to place an order (10 minimum, please) for yourself, family, co-workers and friends please let me know and we will try to fill it. The price for each bands is $2 (but you can donate more). If you would like to buy individual bands they are available at the VFW Post Home on Beach Road (former California Hotel next to Cabrera Center).

Thank you so much for your continuing support of the VFW and our projects.
