TGIT is back with opening of Club V
Partygoers on the island have a reason to celebrate, with the Saipan Grand Hotel bringing back the “Thank God Its Thursday” midweek shindig via Club V, the newest and hippest discotheque on the island.
Saipan Grand executive assistant manager Ed Cho said that, since sister-hotel Dai-Ichi Hotel Saipan Beach shut down TGIT a few months back, Thursday nights on Saipan have become quite boring and stale for partygoers.
“But we’re back for more and at a new venue,” said Cho.
Club V’s midweek gig opened last Oct. 27. The club also held a very successful Halloween party last Saturday.
Club V boasts of state-of-the-art lighting and visual effects, said Cho. “The letter ‘V’ stands for a more vibrant atmosphere and music.” He said the new club also features videos of international artists, as well as regular bands such as the Knight Owls Band and Frozen Nipple.
The Club V, which used to be Club Madonna, has been renovated, with the transformation taking place in less than a month.
Aside from the return of TGIT nights, Club V has designated party themes every night of the week, making it a “full-fledged party area.”
“We are transforming Saipan Grand Hotel into an activity-oriented hotel to provide guests the best entertainment experience in the CNMI,” said Cho.
Club V has lined up activities every night of the week. Sundays’ theme would be ‘70s dance music that would mimic Studio 54, English Band of the ‘80s, and the Revelation of the ‘90s. Mondays will feature the “Island Life” with the longest happy hour and special drinks all night complemented with island and hip hop dance music.
Tuesdays at Club V is “Barkada Nights” for teens, which groove to R&B music and to the music of live bands. Wednesdays are “Gay Divas’ Nights,” which will feature competitions for the GLBT crowd.
Thursdays will be Thank God It’s Thursday night with the ever-popular Big Beats Band, while Friday nights will be called “Biernes Gupot,” featuring the Chris Kaipat Band.
Saturdays are ladies’ night, with ladies getting complimentary welcome drinks. The Knight Owls Band will add to the night’s merriment.
