Students Winona C. Wabol and Hermes A. Diaz, along with Mr. Juan C. Diaz and I, were honored to represent the CNMI at the 4th Annual Digital Storytelling Festival and Symposium held at Osaka Gakuin University in Japan. During the symposium, we presented excerpts from the book We Drank Our Tears: Memories of the WWII Battles for Tinian and Saipan as Told by Our Elders. Winona and Hermes presented PowerPoint presentations on traditional Chamorro clothing and Rafaluwasch beadwork. This trip would not have been possible without the support of Gov. Juan N. Babauta and Mayor Juan B. Tudela. We are very grateful for their gracious support of our young writers and the history they have preserved.
