RGA TURKEY SHOOTOUT ON NOV. 12
Refaluwasch Golf Association would hold its annual Turkey Shootout golf tournament on Nov. 12, a Saturday, at the Lao Lao Bay Golf Resort west course.
RGA president Jess Wabol said entry fee for the yearly affair, held to celebrate Thanksgiving, is $100. Monetary and in-kind prizes await winners of the Turkey Shootout. A get-together would be held after the tournament at the house of Joe Wabol.
Unlike the previous years’ Turkey Shootouts, Wabol said the event would be donating proceeds to the island’s manhoben or youth. The past years, RGA gave away turkey dinners to Saipan’s elderly or man’amko.
Wabol said the golf club aims to raise at least $200 for the purchase of toys for underprivileged five- to six-year-olds whose families who have not been able to afford such luxuries in the past.
Wabol also reiterated RGA’s requirements for its yearend Club Championship. He said monthly champions must play in at least six ace tournaments or cede their slots in the yearend bash to their runners-up.
