NGG helps DEQ in Makaka Beach clean-up
Volunteers from the local New Generation Good/No Generation Gap group gave the Division of Environmental Quality a helping hand in the clean up of Makaka Beach last Saturday, Dec. 3.
Fourteen members of NGG Saipan joined the commitment to clean up the area, which is also known as the Samoan Housing Beach, located south of Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan.
NGG wants to keep the natural environment clean and hopes that the CNMI will be known as the cleanest and loveliest tour destination all over the world.
NGG was originally founded in Korea in 2002 by Daniel Huh and won the special prize from the mayor of Incheon City in November of 2004.
NGG Saipan is founded by a number of adults and high school students in September 2005. They want to act as a bridge between the new generation and old generation by being active in cleaning up the environment and providing old people with emotional support, among others.
A few weeks ago, they donated two wheelchairs to the man’amko for their use during their medical trip to Guam. Their slogans is “New Generation Good, No Generation Gap, Loving Our Community.” Their motto is “Righteous, Wise, Just, Honest.”
NGG seeks to be a model juvenile voluntary movement in CNMI.
An NGG team from Korea is expected to visit Saipan this winter. Next year NGG will recruit new members. Everybody is welcome to join.
