Two-man Best Ball takes center stage this Saturday
The golden opportunity to have a solid start to the 2006 golf season is at hand as the Laolao Bay Golf Resort will provide golfers a shot at claiming glory in this Saturday’s Two-man Best Ball Tournament.
In an interview yesterday, tournament coordinator Jess Wabol explained that unlike other scenes, handicap would have no say in the tournament as players will play in a championship flight sort of environment.
“We will go by gross score, so a player’s handicap will have not be in play,” Wabol said.
Wabol said all interested players may register during the 11am check-in time, with the tournament getting underway at noon.
A registration fee of $100 will be charged to each player, or $200 per team. Wabol stressed that the fee does not include green fees, which must be shouldered by the players.
“This tournament is open to anyone interested,” Wabol said.
Meanwhile, Wabol added that the top finishers will receive cash prizes, however, a specific amount will not be known until all teams have registered.
“All the money that comes in from registration will go out as prizes,” Wabol said. “So the amount for the prizes will depend on how many teams participate in the tournament. More teams competing will mean a larger amount for cash prizes.
