‘NMC to continue with improvements in 2006’
The Northern Marianas College will continue to make improvements for 2006, according to the New Year message of college president Tony Y. Deleon Guerrero.
Deleon Guerrero said that, although the college was confronted with many challenges last year, it remains steadfast in its service to the community.
Through collaboration, cooperation, and institutional-wide commitment to continuous improvement, he said NMC was able to resolve major problems. “We continue to make significant institutional improvements,” he added.
Deleon Guerrero also expressed appreciation and gratitude to all NMC employees, the Board of Regents, and the NMC Foundation members for their individual contributions and support throughout 2005.
“Being a community of educators, let us continue to create value and expand opportunities by exploring new strategies to provide our students with the highest quality learning experiences possible,” he said.
The year 2006 marks the college’s 25th anniversary. Deleon Guerrero said the silver anniversary should bolster their hopes as they continue to work collaboratively to transform NMC into a quality learning institution.
He said experience has taught him that a high performing organization could be successful in achieving its purposes only if its employees develop a shared vision, stay focused in meeting its mission, have a realistic plan, adequate resources, effective assessment system, and organization-wide commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
“As change agents, we will move NMC forward and meet new challenges through college-wide participation in our strategic plan, MRDA action plan, self-study, and the CNMI workforce development plan,” he said. “Through college-wide engagement and participation of internal NMC stakeholders, these institutional plans will help keep the NMC faculty, staff, and administrators focused on its shared vision, mission, values, and goals.”
