Bank of Guam offers college scholarships
HAGATNA, Guam—For the third consecutive year, the Bank of Guam is offering local high school seniors an opportunity to apply for up to $5,000 in grants through its participation with the 2006 Education Exchange college program.
Totaling $50,000 in grants for 2006, The Education Exchange Program is open to all college-bound, high school seniors graduating this year. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be able to provide written acceptance to an accredited four-year college by May 15, 2006. Other information includes an official copy of the high school transcript and two letters of recommendation.
Students must mail their completed applications and supporting documents directly to the ACCEL/Exchange Network in New Jersey. The deadline is March 15, 2006.
Under the program, a total of four $5,000 grants and 30 $1,000 grants will be awarded by July 2006.
Two Guam students have been awarded these scholarships over the last two years. The 2004 awardee, Anita Lai from the Academy of Our Lady of Guam, is at Santa Clara University, while the 2005 winner, Patrick Wolff Jr., a JFK High School graduate, is at the University of Pennsylvania.
Applications are available at all Bank of Guam branches.
