Reyes maintains lead in IVYBL scoring department
Luizi Reyes of the House of Manhoeben Saints continues to make his presence felt in the 2006 Inter-Village Youth Basketball League as the veteran in the 14-and-under competition currently leads the league in scoring.
Reyes has had his way against opposing defense and has tormented opponents for 153 points in six games for a league-best average of 20 points per outing. With his production, the CTSI Logistics-backed Saints are able to sit at the No. 3 spot in the team standings with a 4-2 record.
Matt Duenas of the San Antonio Sixers I is right behind Reyes as he has torched the nets for 78 points in five games for an average of 16 points per game. Duenas has stepped up his game and showcased an improvement compared to last year and is one big reason why the Sixers I remains undefeated with a 5-0 win-loss card.
The other half of the Saints’ one-two punch is currently third as Zack Tudela has seen action in five games and has punched in 58 points for an average of 12 points per game.
Joe Taitano of the Sixers II and Jason Palacios of the Garapan Rollers II follow, with Taitano scoring 57 points in five outings for an average of 11.4 points per game and Palacios working his way for 55 points in five games to average 11 points per game.
Chalan Kanoa Kings teammates Edward Salito and Scott Blewett also average in double figures as both have scored 60 points in six games for averages of 10 points per game.
