The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration is thanking all the overseas Filipino workers in the CNMI, who contributed to the success of the recently ended Family Fun Day for OFWs in the CNMI.

OWWA welfare officer Mary D. Dait said that, on behalf of the Philippine Consulate and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office, she would like to extend her sincere gratitude for the assistance and participation of all Filipinos who attended despite the heavy downpour last Sunday at the American Memorial Park grounds.

Dait said she is also commending the planning and special projects team members who gave their time and effort in making the first-time event a successful one in the Commonwealth.

She said she would like to commend the planning and special projects team members: Gabe De Guzman, Dang Bernabe, Marie Caamic and James Ignacio. For the finance team: Jun Banadera, Airine Martin, Kristin Grace Baltao, and Aileen Indino.

For the secretariat: Lanie Camero and Tina Alverio; for the Community Reach Out team: Daniel Nicomedes, Leodenila Sakuma, Zenaida Santiago, Dolores Mabuti, Ruel Balboa, Pauline Perez, Shiela Puguon, Josie Sabaot, Cesar Calalang and Ric Talabucon. Lastly, for the welfare assistance team: Mario Aquilo, Carlito Marquez and Jun Lapeceros.

OWWA administrator Marianito D. Roque had sent his congratulatory message to Dait, saying that, following a rich tradition, the OWWA embarks on a series of projects and activities to demonstrate the Filipinos’ unity around the world, especially in the CNMI.

“The Family Day started out as a permanent fixture of the annual Pamaskong Handog program but has evolved into an activity replicating the Christmas event when it was not Christmas time,” Roque said.

The head OWWA administrator said that Filipinos cherish the quality time they spend with their loved ones. The event, he said, was an opportunity to strengthen ties with other OFWs and their families, promote camaraderie and family values.
