Six more Fitial appointees went through a smooth confirmation hearing yesterday.

The Senate Committee on Executive Appointments and Government Investigation held confirmation hearings in the morning for Rita L. Arkle, appointee for the Marianas Visitors Authority; Norman Tenorio for the Marianas Public Land Trust; and Roman Demapan for the Board of Professional Licensing.

Acting Finance Secretary Eloy Inos, and Civil Service Commission board appointees Felix Fitial and Alice Odoshi faced the Senate panel in the afternoon.

Sen. Henry San Nicolas said his committee would endorse the confirmation of the six appointees.

He also expressed intent to hold confirmation hearings for the four re-nominated members of the Commonwealth Development Authority board of directors before the entire Senate convenes next week.

“I’m really trying to help the administration (by expediting the confirmation of its appointees). The governor and the lt. governor cannot get anything done if we try to tie him down. Everybody deserves a chance,” San Nicolas said. (Agnes E. Donato)
