Ex-Miss World nominated to national dean’s list
Former CNMI Miss World Tracy Del Rosario continues to make waves in her college study in Hawaii.
Del Rosario, who won the beauty pageant title in 2004, was recently informed of her nomination to the National Dean’s List for the current school year.
“Congratulations! Your hard work has paved the way for a future full of success,” National Academic Affairs chairman Parke H. Davis told Del Rosario in a letter.
The National Dean’s List is said to be the largest, most prestigious publication in the country dedicated to recognizing academic excellence among college students.
Each year, the deans, faculty members, and education professionals from over 2,500 colleges and universities select outstanding students for nomination to the publication.
“This is an honor reserved for only one half of 1 percent of our nation’s college students,” said Davis.
Acceptance of nomination gives the students an opportunity to compete for over $50,000 in scholarships, use student referral service, and use exclusive discounts on computers.
“I’m so happy of this recognition. Things like this make me feel that it’s worth the sacrifice of being away from home,” said Del Rosario.
Del Rosario is currently enrolled at Chaminade University.
She is taking up education with emphasis on special education.
Del Rosario is expected to finish her bachelor’s degree in May 2007.
