Alleged stolen goods recovered
A domestic violence call led police officers to the recovery of allegedly stolen items at a house in Upper Miha, Garapan, according to court documents.
Ties Sachuo, 20, was arrested for assault and battery, and disturbing the peace Thursday afternoon.
Sachuo was also placed under investigation for theft after members of the Department of Public Safety’s Thief Apprehension Select Coalition recovered from his house alleged stolen clothes, undergarments, watches, and fashion jewelry.
Police said TASC agents are still determining who owns the stolen items.
Detective Andrea Ozawa stated in her report that on Oct. 11, 2006, police officers responded to Upper Miha after they received a report of domestic violence.
Ozawa said the victim, who is Ties’ common-law wife, sustained red marks, bruises, and scratches on the face and neck.
The victim said Ties got mad and beat her up when she wanted to go out from the house.
The defendant allegedly kicked her on the head, slapped her on the face, and grabbed her hair. Ties also allegedly looped a blanket around her neck, inserted part of the blanket in her mouth, then strangled her with his hands.
The victim struggled and managed to run to a neighbor’s house.
When police arrived, Ties had already left.
The victim told police that on Oct. 10, 2006, Ties also beat her up after she told his aunt that he had stolen some items. The victim disclosed to police that the defendant had arrived home with stolen items on Oct. 7, 2006. The victim showed the police the items.
Last month, Ties was arrested for beating the same victim after she failed to immediately feed their baby. In January 2006, he was also apprehended for allegedly beating up the same victim who was then eight months pregnant.
