Respect for latte stones

The saga of the latte stones here in the CNMI continues at the southern end of Tinian. The facts are very clear to all the parties. You shall not remove latte stones without the permission of the “guella,” guello,” and the CNMI Historical Preservation Office. You shall not destroy nor deface them with solid objects. You shall not spit on them. You shall not use profanity around them. You shall not use them as your toilet. And you shall not promote or advertise them as for sale.

There is no doubt that these days, the CNMI Historical Preservation Office is monitoring the physical inventory of all latter stones throughout the CNMI. I won’t be surprised if many enforcement officers are already patrolling the jungles throughout the CNMI. And if necessary that these enforcement offices be armed, then let any questions of law be argued inside the local and federal courts of the CNMI by whoever is representing the parties involved.

Any case with respect to latte stones that comes before the Judiciary for trial, review hearing, and examination stands a good chance to receive favorable recognition, provided that all legal ingredients are in place and in order. That is to say that, in presenting your case before an honorable judge, it’s importance to maintain your neutral ground and temperament during the course of your presentation. It’s very simple! All you have to do is talk and say this to yourself, “Judge, whatever you say I will say. Wherever you go I go. What you want me to do, I will do. Whatever you want me to say I will say. And wherever you are, I will be.”

In closing, do not be afraid of judges. They are people, too. Do not hate them for their profession. Appreciate what they are doing for our community. Be proud of them as fellow brothers and sisters. And respect them for who they are, what they are., and where they are.
