SHEFA group sets Spring 2007 deadline
The Saipan Higher Education Financial Assistance is now accepting new applications for financial assistance for the Spring 2007 semester/quarter, according to Saipan Mayor Juan B. Tudela and the SHEFA board of directors.
Any bona fide Saipan resident who has not been a recipient of SHEFA assistance must submit a completed, signed and dated printed or electronic application form and all supporting and pertinent documents to the SHEFA Office in Garapan by close of regular business hour on or before Dec. 1, 2006.
Continuing students in college who have been recipients of SHEFA assistance in Fall 2004, Fall 2005, Spring 2005, or Spring 2006 semester but did not submit a renewal application with SHEFA for the Fall 2006 term, or did not receive assistance in the Fall 2006 semester/quarter must submit a renewal application and supporting documents on or before Dec. 1, 2006, including an original copy of the SHEFA Promissory Note/Memorandum of Agreement.
New applicants or continuing students for the Fall 2006 who did not receive financial assistance in the Fall 2006 semester/quarter may be reconsidered for assistance in the Spring 2007 term upon submission of all required supporting document(s), including an original copy of the SHEFA Promissory Note/Memorandum of Agreement.
The deadline for submission of applications and supporting documents for the Spring 2007 term is Dec. 1, 2006. Applications and supporting documents submitted after the deadline will not be entertained or considered for the Spring 2007 term.
Any bona fide residents of Saipan or the Northern Islands who is a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident attending U.S. accredited colleges or universities on Saipan or abroad, enrolled as full-time student and has at least 2.5 GPA for undergraduate and 3.0 GPA for graduate and advanced standing, must submit a completed application and all required supporting documents to the SHEFA Office in the Garapan Housing Complex behind Garapan Elementary School on or before Dec. 1, 2006, from 7:30am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. Electronic applications must be accompanied by all supporting documents scanned by PDF file.
