Requirements, entry fee due on Tuesday meeting

Teams taking part in the 2006 HANMI Cup-Inter-Hotel Basketball League have only until Tuesday, Nov. 14, to submit their entry fees and other pertinent documents.

League organizers said the $500 entry fee, rosters, waiver forms or insurance, players’ proof of employment, and uniform designs are due during the next organizational meeting set on the aforementioned date at 2:30pm at the Saipan World Resort.

Nine teams already have confirmed their entry in the 2006-2007 season and they include Aqua Resort Club, Fiesta Resort and Spa, Hafadai Beach Hotel, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Marianas Resort and Spa, Pacific Islands Club, Saipan Grand Hotel, Saipan Nikko Hotel, and Saipan World Resort.

The Inaugural HANMI Cup-Inter Hotel Basketball League will start on Nov. 26 at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium. Organizers will have a draw to determine which of the participating teams will see action in the lone game on opening day set to tip off at 3pm.

After the game, a barbecue potluck party will be held at the Minatchom Atdao Pavillion across the Oleai Sports Complex.

The Inaugural HANMI Cup, organized by the Northern Marianas Bartenders Association with endorsement from the Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands, is expected to last three months with the champion crowned by early next year.

Organizers are also reminding participating teams, that rosters, waiver forms, $5 insurance fee, and other pertinent documents and requirements should be submitted as soon as possible.
