Tan Holdings’ executive retreat a success
Spreading some local business to the island of Rota, Tan Holdings conducted a successful “2007 Business Planning Retreat” at the Rota Resort & Country Club last weekend. A group of 31 executives joined the three-day event from Saipan, Guam and Palau.
Mayor Joseph Inos and Sen. Paul Manglona and their wives joined for a dinner hosted by Tan Holdings on Saturday night.
“The people of Rota are very appreciative that Tan Holdings has decided to have its retreat here on our island,” said Inos. “Rota is a place where you can experience warm hospitality and where you can think clearly in beautiful surroundings. We hope that more companies will consider Rota for this kind of event.”
In addition to the group’s two-day meetings and team building exercises at the resort, the executives took the opportunity to tour the island on Saturday, visiting such sites as the Tonga Cave, Tweksberry Park, Honey Garden and Swimming Hole. The group also visited several local restaurants and took time to buy local produce to take home to Saipan.
“This was indeed a successful trip for us and I think everyone enjoyed Rota very much. We were able to get away from our cell phones, focus and share ideas with one another on this lovely island,” said Tan Holdings president Jerry Tan.
Founded on Guam in the ’70s and today headquartered on Saipan, Tan Holdings is a diverse holding company which does business in more than a dozen industries in the Western Pacific. Executives of the company went to Rota this Nov. 3 through 5 from Saipan, Guam, Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia and Manila. (PR)
