The USS Peleliu Club in Garapan will again play host to another billiards competition as its 2006 Marianas Turkey Shoot Pool Tournament hits this weekend.

According to establishment owner Rose Phillips, the tournament will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18, and Sunday, Nov. 19.

The competition is scheduled to get underway at 3pm, featuring a double-elimination format. In the case that more than 16 player sign up to compete, the format will become single elimination.

In the case the competition will use a single elimination format, all winners will advance to play on Sunday, which will feature action in double-elimination format.

Entry fee is $15 for early registration, while registration on game day is $20 per person. Early registration forms are available at the club. All that avail of the early registration deal will also qualify for additional prizes, including a 10-percent discount on all store items at USSP Mart.

Much will be given away as prizes as first, second, third, fourth, and fifth place finishers will bag frozen turkeys and gravy, cash, trophies, and Bud family gear.

“Depending on the number of entries, the first place winner may end up going home with $100 cash,” Phillips said in a statement.

No one will go home empty-handed as Phillips said all players will receive giveaways from MARPAC.

It will be the second time the club will host the event after the inaugural tournament was held last year on Thanksgiving Day.
