Caleb pulled away from Hosea in the second half to register a 105-75 win in the lone completed game in the 2nd CIM-FCC Inter-Color Basketball League-Genesis Cup last Thanksgiving at the CIM-FCC Basketball Court in Gualo Rai.

It was a nip-and-tuck affair in the first quarter, as Freddie Pelisamen and Amor Casabuena starred for their teams with Casabuena collecting six points for Hosea and Pelisamen nine to help Caleb to a 17-14 lead heading into the second.

Leo Barrios then made ala-Pelisamen in the second, exploding for 11 points, as Caleb extended its advantage to 41-35 at the half, even as young gun Renato Batallones matched Barrios’ 11 for Hosea.

Pelisamen returned to form in the third canto, firing 11 points and Barrios complimented him with his own eight to help Caleb break the game wide open, leading by 16 markers, 77-53, heading into the fourth and final quarter of the ballgame.

It was all over but the shouting as the payoff period ensued, but that didn’t stop Caleb and Hosea players from padding their stats.

In all seven players from Caleb and five from Hosea logged in a bucket or more in the final 10 minutes of the contest.

Pelisamen went on to pace Caleb with 24 points, while Barrios and big man Ronald Delos Reyes punched in 23 and 20 markers, respectively.

Batallones was brilliant in defeat for Hosea, as he took game-high scores with 25 points. James Camacho and Casabuena chipped in 21 and 18 points in the team’s second loss in as many games.

The second game between Isaiah and powerhouse Daniel was interrupted by rain with a few minutes left in the opening quarter and will be played at the end of the regular season.
