The fall session of the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association’s youth program was a success and the upcoming winter/spring season promises to provide more of the same excitement on the American Memorial Park pitch in 2007.

Before any of the future stars get their kicks in Garapan in January, their parents will have to sign them up for the next round soccer on Saipan during this week’s open registration.

According to NMIFA Youth League director Sue Knecht, the season starts on Jan. 8, 2007, and all players have until this Saturday, Dec. 2, to register with league officials at their office, which is located in the same building as the Marianas Visitors Authority headquarters in San Jose.

NMIFA representatives will be on site today and Wednesday, Nov. 29, from 3pm to 6pm and the final day to register is during the five hour session this Saturday, Dec.2, when organizers will be outside in the parking lot from 10am to 3pm.

Knecht made it clear that punctuality will be key as there will be no exceptions to re-register beyond Saturday.
