Power, water outages in As Teo today
There will be water and power outages in some parts of As Teo this morning when the Department of Public Works conducts improvement work on the Santa Lourdes Road and drainage system.
The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. said yesterday that, at the request of DPW, it will turn off the electricity to the eastern As Teo area so its contractor can work safely with a large crane. The heavy equipment is needed to install concrete box culverts for the drainage system adjacent to the road, right where the electric lines run. The electricity must be turned off for safe crane operations. The contractor will also divert a watermain, causing a water outage during the construction.
The water and power outages will occur from 8am to 12 noon. This affects customers down Santa Lourdes Road, just after the village, east of the shrine, and the Donnie Springs area to the Mafnas ranch.
Once contractors have removed the tall crane from under the electric lines, the power will be restored, CUC said. After the new watermain is created, the Agag water valve will be opened, though it will take a few hours for complete water pressure to return to normal. (PR)
