Message of sympathy
On behalf of the officers and staff of the Philippine Consulate General on Saipan, my family and I extend our most heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and friends of the late Narciso Fidelino Jr.
“Jun” Fidelino will be sorely missed by the Filipino community in the CNMI. Although he ultimately chose to assume the citizenship of the land where he spent the most productive years of his life, to us, he remained quintessentially Filipino. He remained an active member of the Filipino community in the CNMI, ever mindful of his roots. And he conducted himself in his adopted country with a resilience, industry and determination that spoke well of his Filipino heritage, and of his excellence of character as an individual.
Above all, he will be missed by the CNMI community at large. As the only Special Assistant for Filipino Affairs under the term of former governor Froilan Tenorio, and later as a caseworker and translator at the Federal Ombudsman’s Office, he exhibited an enduring dedication to service—both to his adopted country and to his former countrymen—that was to be the defining characteristic of his life.
Our prayers go out to the bereaved family in this difficult time, and our hopes that his family may find comfort in the fact that “Jun” Fidelino’s accomplishments have guaranteed him a special place in the hearts of all whose lives he touched.
With our deepest sympathies,
Wilfredo DL. Maximo Consul General
