The Pacific Islands Club-Deloitte&Touche San Antonio Dragons joined four other teams on top of the standings in the Major division of the Saipan Little League after beating its opponents on Sunday.

The San Antonio Dragons went on a nine-run first inning scoring rampage to smolder the Wells Fargo As Matuis Twins, 14-2, at the Miguel Basa “Tan Ge” Pangelinan Field.

Jose Ngeskebei led that Dragons attack going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a two-RBI triple in San Antonio’s nine-run first inning rally.

Alden Ngeskebei also went 2-for-3 with three runs, a double, and one stolen base while starting pitcher Juljen Ngeskebei went 1-for-3 scoring one run, a stolen base, and a first inning two-RBI triple.

Juljen Ngeskebei earned the win when she pitched two no-hit and scoreless innings with four strikeouts and no walks.

Geral Cabrera replaced Juljen pitching two innings in relief giving up one earned run on two hits with four strikeouts and one walk.

Pirates 30, Enforcers 20

The Kautz Glass Pirates needed almost four hours before pulling off a 30-20 decision against DPS Dare JPO supported by Rep. Diego T. Benavente.

The first three innings alone took two hours in a game that showcased the offensive prowess of both teams. They also had a lot of stranded runners on base.

With the score pegged at 29-20 at the bottom of the fifth, Patrick Reyes led off with a solo inside-the-park home run to score the winning run for the Pirates and end the game. He went 3-for-6 with four runs and three RBIs.

John Flores went 4-for-5 with four runs and six RBIs. He had a bases-clearing triple in the first inning then connected on a two-RBI double in the fourth.

Frank Camacho joined in the hit parade going 4-for-5 with five runs and one RBI, an RBI-double in the third inning.

The Pirates led 9-2 after one inning but the Enforcers scored 12 runs in the top of the second to grab the lead. The Pirates closed in at 11-14 after two complete innings then pulled away with an 11-run third inning.

San Antonio Dragons pitcher Juljen Ngeskebei throws a pitch to an As Matuis Twins batter in their Majors division game in the Saipan Little League on Sunday at the Miguel Basa “Tan Ge” Pangelinan Field.
