A few points on CUC, Legislature, high cost of fuel, and Tao Tao Tano

No. 1: With regard to the CUC outage schedule. If you promulgate a schedule, stick to it. 7:43am to 10:18am, is NOT 8:00am to 10:00am. CUC, you owe me $2 for the pancakes and sausage I tried to cook for breakfast.

No. 2: There is plenty of money. Subtract the cost of all the leased vehicles, phones, and un-audited discretionary funds for the Legislature, and we have an excess. Considering that the Legislature represents only roughly 20 percent of the entire population, maybe they should take a cut of 80 percent across the board. Or better yet, how many representatives do we really need? Considering a total population of roughly 60K, only 12,000 of whom have a say, do we really need a Legislature this size?

Where I grew up in Ohio, we have five councilmen. The city is three times the size, and has the same population.

No. 3: Mr. Torres, calling upon the oil suppliers will not change anything. If you look at Exxon/Mobil since their merger in 1998, the profit margin has remained a steady 14 percent.

I understand your frustration, and that of the rest of your constituency. It does not change the fact, that they are not price gougers, or hoarders. I urge you, and the rest of the legislature to look inward, and find the real cause of our fuel problems.

No. 4: With regards to Gregorio Cruz and TAO TAO TANO. Although I have been a harsh critic in the past, I wish to thank you sir, for your very informative letter on the state of CUC.

We may not agree on most things, but your tour of CUC facilities, and subsequent follow ups, make my wife and I secure in the knowledge that someone on this beautiful piece of paradise is always looking out for us. My door is open to you, and all TAO TAO TANO who wish to have a meaningful dialogue about my adopted land.
