The Emergency Management Office issued a high surf advisory yesterday, warning the public to stay out of the water until this evening due to dangerous waves that could be life threatening.

Based on information received from National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam, and compiled at the EMO, large swells will persist until 6pm Monday due to the passing of distant super typhoon Rammasun.

The high surf advisory applies to west facing reef.

EMO is strongly advising the general public—especially beachgoers, fishermen, tour operators, and divers—to avoid venturing near reefs lines and exposed beaches as wind and waves support dangerous rip currents. [B][I](EMO)
