Grades 1 and 2 students of Grace Christian Academy currently have an art exhibit at the Truongs Restaurant in Susupe.

Entitled “The Heart of Art,” the exhibit began last Mother’s Day, May 11, and will conclude this Sunday, May 18.

In all, 11 students of Mang Ben’s Art Class are taking part in the exhibit. The art class’ teacher, Benjie Ganapin, said the elementary students held the exhibit as a tribute to their mothers. He said the works of art are not for sale.

Truongs Restaurant manager, Melinda Javier, is impressed with the exhibit.

“I’m surprised that these painting are works of grades 1 and 2 students, they are so blessed and talented. Truongs Restaurant is privileged to be part of their exhibition,” she said.

Ganapin added that the parents are so happy about the potential of their children and are hoping these kinds of projects of Grace Christian Academy will continue so the skills of their children would be developed.

“We are helping our future artists and it’s good that as early as now we are showing them our support and encourage them,” one parent commented.

Ganapain said the exhibit’s name, “The Heart of Art,” means God.

“God is the one who created us and imparted creativity in us, and it’s just right to glorify Him, our Creator with that creativity,” he said.

He said GCA students and their parents are already looking forward for the next class. “Congratulations to GCA, parents and students!” said Ganapin. (GCA)
