KNT holds fam tour for agents
Officials and agents of a major travel agency in Japan visited Saipan and Rota to learn more about the islands last week.
Kinki Nippon Tourist held the three-day familiarization tour for 11 employees at the agency’s Kansai business headquarters. The participants included KNT-Kansai general manager Hiroshi Tsuchiya, managers Ishohashi Masayasu and Shiro Saito, and eight tour agents.
They arrived on Saipan on May 14, and flew to Rota the following day. They had a Chamorro dinner at Rota Resort and met with Edward Maratita, a member of the Marianas Visitors Authority board of directors. Maratita thanked KNT for visiting Rota and for operating charter flights to Rota.
On the third day of the tour, the group returned to Saipan and visited the main tourist sites on the island.
“Although it was very short stay, it was the good opportunity for them to know well about Rota and Saipan,” according to Pacific Development Inc., which is helping to promote KNT’s charter flights.
MVA, Hafadai Beach Hotel, Rota Resort & Country Club, and PDI offered support for the familiarization tour.
Northwest Airlines operates daily service between Kansai International Airport, which serves the Osaka area. Continental Airlines is set to introduce three charter flights to Rota in August and October.
