A company has sued another firm for allegedly not paying $33,503 it owed for services rendered in connection with the Commonwealth Health Center’s extension project.

Coffel-CTS Saipan Company, through counsel Timothy H. Bellas, requested the Superior Court to hold Carrier Guam Inc. liable to pay the actual damages plus attorney’s fees and court costs.

The plaintiff also demanded post judgment interest at the rate of nine percent.

Bellas stated in the complaint that in September 2005, Coffel entered into a contract with Carrier Guam as a sub-contractor in connection with the CHC’s extension project.

Bellas said Coffel has provided services as agreed under the contract between the parties.

“Several notices have been sent to Carrier in regards to the unpaid balance of the amount due for the services rendered,” the lawyer said.

He said his client has continued to demand payment of the unpaid balance on a monthly basis, but Carrier has made no payments in response.

“Therefore, the above amount represents the total still due and owing to Coffel at the time of the filing of this complaint, not including attorney’s fees and costs for the preparation and filing of this complaint and all other services necessary to collect the underlying debt,” Bellas said.
