Department of Labor Deputy Secretary Cinta M. Kaipat said Labor continues to conduct outreach community meetings regarding Public Law 15-108 or the new labor reform law.

Kaipat said she and Labor’s senior management team conducted an outreach informational meeting for Tasi Tours managers last April.

One company also requested Labor to hold such outreach meeting, said the former lawmaker in her interim report of P.L. 15-108 that she recently submitted to the Legislature.

“Of course, the Department continues to field phone calls, e-mail inquiries, and walk-ins from the business community and members of the public who want to know more about our new labor-reform law,” said Kaipat, who was the principal author of the controversial law.

She cited that the computer station set up at Labor’s Employment Services Division has proven helpful as it allows those who do not have access to a computer to avail themselves of the services now made possible by the new automated system.

The computer station, she added, also provides people access to various information on Labor’s website www.marianaslabor.net.
