Atalig launches CNMIspace.com
A San Diego, Calif.-based college student has come up with the CNMI’s first social networking site, cnmispace.com.
In a long-distance interview, Charlie Ogo Atalig said the new website is similar to other networking sites such as myspace.com but focused on residents of the Northern Mariana Islands.
The website just started in July 10, 2008 but now has over 600 members. It is a non-subscription site, which means you don’t have to pay anything to become a member.
To join, go to the website www.CNMIspace.com and then click sign up.
From there, it will ask you basic information such as your email address, gender, location, and the user name and password you want. You will be required to agree to the terms and condition and only after doing so will one become a member.
The goal of the website is “to connect the people of the CNMI from all around the globe,” Atalig said.
The website offer users a way to find friends, show off their photos, build their own page, and express themselves.
“We offer features such as a gallery, polls, quizzes, events, forums, and blogs,” said Atalig.
Atalig would like to express his gratitude to his parents, siblings, Jaclyn Michelle Cabrera, Karen Cabrera, Lucretia Barcinas, those who have joined, and to those who are helping promote the website.
