Salute to a wonderful lady
Please print this simple letter of appreciation to a wonderful lady for her thoughtfulness and her appreciation for the indigenous culture and its people.
One afternoon, as I waiting for a friend in the restaurant of Century Hotel, Lynn Knight showed up. I invited her over to my table to inquire about something. Out of curiosity, I asked her why she wasn’t running for the non-voting delegate as her name was mentioned earlier on. She told me that after considerable time thinking about it, she decided not to because this was a historical time for the indigenous people and they should have the opportunity first.
My ride arrived to pick me up, but as I drove away I could not stop thinking of what Lynn Knight had said about this historical event and opportunity presented for the indigenous people. Ms. Knight had the opportunity to run, certainly the qualifications and maybe even a lot of supporters, but she instead made way for the indigenous people to have the first crack at it. This is so thoughtful of this wonderful lady.
On behalf of all the indigenous people in the Commonwealth and the Democratic Party, I salute you and send my best wishes to you and your family.
