The Emergency Management Office, in conjunction with U.S. Naval Forces Marianas Guam, said the U.S. military is conducting marine ordnance survey on the island of Farallon de Mendenilla from until Oct. 11, 2008, from 12am to 11:59pm. The activity began on Oct. 6.

The general location of this activity will be on the island of Farallon De Mendenilla Training Area (R7201) on a 10 nautical mile radius on all quadrants.

Due to the danger imposed by this activity, EMO is advising the public—especially fishermen, commercial pilots and marine tour operators—to stay away from this area during the time and dates indicated.

For more information, contact the EMO Operations Section at telephone numbers 322-9528 and 322-9529, VHF MARINE CHNL 16, and HF Single Side Band Radio on 5.205.0. (EMO)
