NMI students urged to apply for nomination to Naval Academy

Resident Representative Pedro A. Tenorio is accepting applications from students who want to attend the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland for the class entering Fall 2009.

If interested, you should apply for admission between April of your junior year in high school and January of your senior year in high school. Deadline to apply is Dec. 15, 2008. Early applications are encouraged.
[B] Eligibility requirements for nomination[/B]

Must be a U.S. citizen;

Must have graduated from high school no later than June 2009;

Must be between the ages of 17 and 23 years by July 1, 2009;

Must be unmarried, not pregnant and have no legal obligations to support children or other dependents;

Must be academically qualified, with competitive GPA and SAT (CEEB CODE #0059) or ACT (CEEB CODE #7596) scores;

Must have good moral character;

Must be physically and medically qualified;

Must be active in school, community and extracurricular sports or activities;

Must be registered to vote in the CNMI (if under 18 years old, parents must be registered to vote in CNMI).
