Date set for 7th Stamp Rally Campaign
Paseo de Marianas Promoters Inc. said it is ready to hold the seventh Stamp Rally Campaign from December 2008 to April 6, 2009. The event used to be held in July to September.
During this event, tourists as well as local consumers who spend one dollar or more on food or merchandise gets a stamp card on each visit to a participating business. PDM said a total of four stamps on each stamp card could be exchanged for a giveaway. The giveaway items are available at the PDM Information Center in Kinpachi Restaurant.
Every family who brings kids to eat in any of the participating restaurants will get a free art kit to draw on. The kids will be given crayons and each child will be given a chance to draw anything he or she likes best and this would be posted in a display area for passersby, especially tourists, to appreciate.
The organizers’ aim is to promote art awareness among children aged 10 and below.
This event is done twice a year, first in the summer and the second in December.
Next month’s Stamp Rally Campaign will coincide with PDM’s activities for the Christmas holiday season, including the third Christmas tree decoration contest and the second drawing contest for the schoolchildren of Tinian and Rota.
PDM’s Sonia Siwa said a total of 12 elementary schools have already signified their intention to join the Christmas tree decorating contest while the Office of Aging will be decorating their own entry as a special participant.
Tourist will have an opportunity to directly participate in the fun by writing in a red ribbon their wishes for the holidays, which would be tied to the giant Christmas tree that would be erected at the Paseo de Marianas.
