New batch of Saipan singing superstars

Michele Villaraza, a 25-year-old crooner of a local acoustic band, bested 15 other grand finalists Friday night last week to become this year’s Saipan Singing Superstar. She also romped off with the PTI Text Star award after garnering a total of 16,279 text votes from her supporters.

Marvin Espeleta garnered the second winner’s spot and placed third in the PTI Text Star Category, garnering a total of 11,101 text votes. He was also given a special award as the Most Promising Male Star.

Charie Ramos got the third place trophy and the Female Concert Star, while fourth placer, Janee Babauta, won second place in the PTI Text Star category with 14, 325 votes.

Gigi Hernandez received the Production Number Hall of Fame award while Ricky Custodio copped the Mr. Heartthrob award and sixth place in the singing competition. He also got the PTI Text Star Hall of Fame award for topping the text votes for three weeks.
