The Senate has offered its condolences to the family of a Cape Air employee, who died recently.

The Upper House adopted a resolution expressing their appreciation to Ellen Wishard Holloman, Cape Air Pacific regional administrator, “for her commitment, dedication and generosity toward the people of the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas.”

Holloman, who died on Nov. 25, had served as the on-site liaison to Cape Air’s partner Continental Airlines. During her stint in the Northern Marianas, according to the resolution, Holloman “demonstrated a genuine dedication to the islands’ communities and residents.”

“In her commitment to the people and businesses of the Commonwealth, Ellen maintained exceptional air service in the region despite challenging economic condition, sustained air service to the island of Rota is particularly important to the island’s economy and its people, and as such Ellen worked devotedly to make certain that Cape Air’s Rota Station remained operational,” the resolution states.

It adds, “Through her tireless efforts, Ellen always showed the kindest of spirits and remarkable talents, a gracious team leader who was generous and giving to all.”

The resolution also praised Holloman for her volunteer work on Guam and Rota.

“The people of Rota will always have a special place in their hearts for Ellen and the many fond memories of her visits to the island,” the resolution says.
