Commonwealth Ports Authority will test the mettle of Freedom Air in one of three exciting match-ups today in the 2008 Budweiser Inter-Fovernment/Business Softball League at the Capital Hill Ballfield.

CPA is currently sporting a 9-1 win-loss record, good for second place behind league-leading Department of Community and Cultural Affairs.

As of press time last night, defending champion DCCA was seeking its 12th win in a row against Hopwood (0-10).

Department of Land and Natural Resources was also scheduled to play against Law and Order. DLNR was carrying a 5-5 card, while Law and Order is at 3-7.

Last night’s third game was between Commonwealth Health Center and Mayor’s Office.

CHC has a record of 3-7 and Mayor’s Office was trying to score its second win this season after losing 10 games.

But Freedom Air should not be taken lightly and a victory in their 8:30pm scheduled encounter would change the two teams’ position in the overall standings.

Freedom Air is lagging behind by just one game with its 8-1 record in third place.

In fourth place is No Zone (8-2), which is pitted against an equally strong opponent in Docomo at 7:30pm.

Docomo is in eighth place with 6-4.

In another exciting match-up, Joeten Motor Jets will play against P&S in today’s opener at 6:30pm.

The Jets are in sixth position with a 7-3 win-loss record, while the P&S is in ninth at 5-4.

Tomorrow’s game will be DEQ/CRM (5-5) vs. Customs (2-8) at 6:30pm and CUC (3-7) vs. PIC (2-7) at 8:30pm.

In the women’s side, Finance and CUC will part their ways in their 7:30pm game. Both teams are tied with identical 3-4 win-loss markings.
