Staywell Saipan welcomes Plinske, Hooper
After 16 years of public service as an educator and business development leader at Northern Marianas College, Eric Plinske has joined StayWell Saipan as branch manager. In addition, Chai Hooper has rejoined the StayWell Saipan team as office manager after returning to Saipan from Atlanta, Georgia.
“Eric’s educational background, community involvement, and managerial experience will be a great asset for our company. We are excited and fortunate to have Eric join our team,” according to Don Davis, president of StayWell. “It’s also a blessing to have Chai back after running the StayWell Saipan office for 14 years before moving to the U.S. mainland two years ago.”
Plinske moved to Saipan in January 1993 to manage the Small Business Development Center at NMC after having completed his Master of Business Administration degree at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Plinske also holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Chaminade University, which he earned while serving on active duty in the U.S. Army at Fort Shafter, Hawaii. While at NMC, Plinske went on to become the Business Department chair and taught several courses in Business Administration.
Hooper originally joined StayWell Saipan in March 1993 as a Medical Records Administrator. Prior to joining StayWell in 1993, Hooper was in clinical practice at St. Mary’s Hospital in Orange, New Jersey, and Passaic General Hospital in Passaic, New Jersey. Hooper holds a BSN/RN degree from Cebu Doctors’ University in Cebu, the Philippines, and a Licensed Practical Nurse certification from New Jersey.
“Although it is difficult to separate from the college and my close NMC family, I am looking forward to this exciting new opportunity in the private sector with StayWell,” said Plinske.
As the co-founder of Gold’s Gym Saipan, Plinske is no stranger to the to the health and wellness industry. “I plan to continue promoting the importance of health and fitness while providing the best possible health and dental insurance for the community at StayWell. And one of the most amazing things about StayWell is that we reward our customers with refunds for staying healthy,” Plinske said.
As for Hooper, she said: “I’m so glad to be back. I truly missed everyone and of course the sun. My support on health promotion and disease prevention still continues for the well being of not only StayWell members, but also to all individuals in the CNMI.”
