Override the governor’s veto
Not overriding the governor’s veto of the budget bill will seriously mean your seats in office, legislators. The rate and level of frustration of a depressed community could be detrimental to all the seats of the incumbents.
We urge all of you to do the right thing and override the governor’s veto.
The justification is there, such as:
1.) CUC: Currently still has two engines—No. 6 and 8—operating without any light at the end of the tunnel, even after a professional was hired from American Samoa.
2.) As we predicted, an emergency declaration occurred, and the excuse is Aggreko! Where are the parts for such a rehabilitation and repair effort? Are they on island? Have they been ordered? Too many scientist and experts but no solution.
3.) Political hires in all government agencies such as DPS, DPL and DCCA is beyond comprehension. Nearly 400 new employees in the recent months were hired while the Governor was calling for cutbacks in expenditures.
All of you need to understand that this Governor is using and abusing his executive authority certifying the hiring of new employees (political constituents) to gain support for his gubernatorial election in nine months.
4.) Until such time that this governor eliminates and recalls all his 400 political hires, to include removal of non-essential and non-productive Cabinet members, and that he guarantee’s that all debts such as auto loans, personal loans, home loans, and all other employee obligation are taken cared of by him and his administration.
Override the veto on the budget bill.
