Vincent Camacho lifted the Tanapag Falcons to an 8-7 win over the Aztecs Tuesday night in the Junior League of the 2009 Saipan Little League Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Ballfield.

Camacho—who starred on the mound and stole a base in the top of the seventh inning—leads the league in pitching with a perfect 0.00 ERA with no error in 6.2 innings.

Team Aztecs squandered a 7-3 lead after three full innings as the Falcons rallied aided by two runs from Camacho and starting pitcher Vincent Cabrera.

Before the start of the bottom fourth, Camacho, who was at shortstop, was summoned to the mound replacing Cabrera, who moved to third base.

Then, the press box announcer went on to inform the spectators that Camacho is currently on top of the list of the pitching leaders.

As if getting the cue from that announcement, Camacho showed his worth by not allowing any runner to reach the home plate and the Falcons scored one more run in the fifth courtesy of Ignacio Aldan Jr., his second in the game after scoring in the top of second.

Ben Igitol tied the count on a RBI groundout by Jorro Jones in the sixth inning.

In the seventh and with two outs, Camacho advanced to first after he was hit by a pitch by Aztecs reliever Wally Emul Jr.

Camacho then stole second, advanced to third on a single by Ryan Ada, then suddenly dashed to home plate on Emul’s second throw off Igitol for the decisive run as the Falcons won their third straight win.

After Igitol was struck out, Camacho again dominated from the mound.

He struck out leadoff batter JoeTogawa, who made two runs earlier against the Falcons’ starting pitcher in the second and third.

Nick Cruz, who scored a run in the first, singled but Camacho struck out the next batter, Franklin Togawa.

Falcons catcher Ignacio Aldan Jr. then secured the win when he caught a pop-up.

The Aztecs, whose back-to-back victories was snapped, suffered their second loss in four games.
