The Friends for Juan “Pan” T. Guerrero and Joseph N. Camacho Fundraising Golf Tournament will be held this Saturday at the Kingfisher Golf Links.

Tournament director Ralph N. Yumul said they are expecting more than 70 golfers to participate in the event, which aims to raise funds for the Committee to Elect Juan “Pan” T. Guerrero and Joseph N. Camacho.

Guerrero and Camacho are running for governor and lieutenant governor, respectively, as independent candidates in this year’s election.

“We are encouraging golfers in the CNMI to join this tournament, have fun, and meet their candidates. We prepared great prizes for winners in different flights,” Yumul said.

This Saturday’s fundraiser will have competitions in six divisions, namely the Championship Flight, A, B, C, D, and Ladies. Tournament format is double-peoria

The Championship Flight is for participants with 0 to 5 handicap, A is for 6 to 11, B is for 12 to 17, C is for 18-22, and D is for 23-and-above.

Yumul said they added the special D Flight, as they want to encourage new golfers to join the tournament.

The top winner in each flight will receive cash prizes and other giveaways courtesy of various sponsors of tournament.

A golfer who will make a hole-in-one shot are guaranteed to win a roundtrip ticket anywhere to Asia courtesy of MITA Travel. Hole-in-one prizes are at stake in the par-3 No. 6, 8, 12, and 15 holes.

Tee-time is at 11am, while check in is at 10am. The awards banquet will follow immediately after the tournament.

Interested participants can still register at the venue. Entrance fee is only $75.

Expected to participate this Saturday’s event are the golfers who joined the San Jose Church tourney last weekend, also at the Talofofo golf course.

Bae Yong Man won the low gross division, while Jess Wabol and Ned Norita placed second and third, respectively. Rene Batallones prevailed in the low net category, while Kim Yang topped the Ladies gross.
