Poker arcades used as meeting places by alleged ‘ice’ suppliers
Poker arcades were used as meeting places by two of three suspected suppliers of crystal methamphetamine or “ice” who were arrested last week.
Court documents state that Juan Diego C. Matagolai handed $200 worth of “ice” to an undercover police officer and a “cooperating source” at JL Poker Arcade in Dandan. Benedicto R. Lizama allegedly used Kagman Market Poker Room as his meeting place with a “cooperating source.”
Detective Peter Raymond Camacho stated that on Jan. 22, 2009, a “cooperating source” placed a call to a suspected “ice” supplier and ordered $200 worth of “ice.”
After the call, Camacho said the undercover officer and the “cooperating source” proceeded to JL Poker Arcade in Dandan where the transaction took place.
The “ice” supplier that allegedly sent Matagolai to the poker arcade to hand over the drug. has not been arrested yet.
In Lizama’s case, Detective Steven A. Castro said the “cooperating source” met with Lizama at the Kagman Market Poker Room where they talked about buying $300 worth of “ice.”
After the deal, Castro said, Lizama directed the “cooperating source” to proceed to a place in San Vicente where he handed the “ice.”
A third defendant, Eddie M. Fleming, allegedly sold $200 worth of “ice” to an undercover officer and a “cooperating source” in Dandan Homestead.
Fleming, 51, Lizama, 57, and Matagolai, 29, were arrested Thursday and brought to the Superior Court Friday for a bail hearing.
