Drunk man allegedly tries to kiss woman, chokes man, assaults cop
A drunken man allegedly tried to kiss a woman, choked a man, and even assaulted a police officer outside a bar in western Garapan last weekend.
Isidoro Ilek was taken to the Superior Court Monday afternoon for a bail hearing. He is facing charges of assault and battery, disturbing the peace, and resisting arrest.
Associate Judge Ramona V. Manglona imposed a $5,000 cash bail for Ilek’s temporary liberty. She set the preliminary hearing for April 30.
Detective Christopher Leon Guerrero said police on Saturday received a call at 2:40am about a disturbance outside the USSP Bar in western Garapan.
Leon Guerrero said when a responding police officer arrived, Ilek was seen shouting and arguing with some men at the bar’s parking lot.
When a police officer tried to calm down Ilek, the defendant instead repeatedly told the officer to move away from his face.
The defendant then allegedly pushed the officer on the chest. The officer, who at that time was joined by other officers, tried to arrest Ilek but he allegedly resisted. This prompted one officer to spray pepper mace on the defendant.
Ilek was then subdued, but he allegedly continued to struggle as he was taken to a police’s car.
Police learned that the drunken Ilek had tried to kiss a woman. A man tried to stop him, but the suspect attacked and choked him.
Ilek was allegedly challenging everyone at the parking lot to a fight when the police arrived.
