Meeting to focus on critical role of HR

Karen L. Verrico, CAE, the Field Services director for the Pacific West Region of the Society for Human Resource Management, will be the guest speaker at the upcoming special membership meeting of the SHRM CNMI Chapter. Verrico will speak on the critical role human resources play in today’s economic downturn.

Innovative strategies HR professionals are employing to minimize crippling layoffs, to maintain morale and employee engagement, and to retain top talent during this crisis will be highlighted. Examples will be from the case studies submitted in the SHRM Economic Stimulus Prize contest and recent research by SHRM.

The Chapter special meeting will be held May 26, 2009, at Charley’s Cabaret of the Pacific Islands Club Saipan. Doors open at 11:15am for registration.

Cost for Chapter members is $20 and $30 for non-SHRM members (Government Purchase Orders accepted). Cost includes lunch and materials. Reservations are requested.
