Guam receives Boeing 737-800 with new United visual branding
GUAM—United Continental Holdings Inc. received its first Guam-based Boeing 737-800 aircraft with the new United livery. The newly painted aircraft featuring the distinctive globe logo and blue and white livery started flying from Guam this week.
This aircraft has 14 business and 141 economy class seats and features the new livery that combines the company’s brand name in capital letters—UNITED—in a custom sans-serif font, joined with the global mark of blue-gold-white globe image on the tail, which has been Continental’s brand image since 1991.
Barry Bergmann, United’s Managing Director of Micronesia and South East Asia said, “We are thrilled to launch the first Guam-based aircraft with the new livery for our Guam and Micronesia customers. This is just one example of the new United’s successful merger integration process in the region. We know our loyal customers will be as excited as we are to offer more flight options not only to the U.S. and Hawaii, but Asia and Latin America on United’s worldwide network.”
Both airlines have powerful brand recognition and the new visual branding builds upon the significant value of each airline’s strong historical image, while advancing the combined airline’s future new look. To date, more than 520 United/Continental aircraft have been repainted. All Guam based Boeing 737 series aircraft will be outfitted with the new livery by 2012. (United)
