The 2011 UFO Basketball Friendship League will have its technical meeting today at 6pm at the Civic Center pavilion in Susupe.

Players and coaches of participating teams in three divisions are asked to attend the meeting, as league organizers will explain rules and regulations in the competition tonight. Teams are also asked to turn over a copy of their 12-player roster and the $500 entrance fee (exclusive of uniforms).

The league will kick off on July 31 at the TSL Sports Complex with competition in the masters, junior, and midget divisions.

The masters division is for 40-and-above age group and has six teams with two more slots available. The junior category for 21 to 39 age group is fully booked with 12 teams, while the midget division (for 15 to 20 age group), has three teams and three berths are yet to be filled.

Once the rosters are in, players must attend a screening on July 15 at 6pm at the same venue and bring a proof of eligibility, such as passport, birth certificate, or driver’s license.

Then two days before the league opens shop, a meeting for team managers, coaches, table officials, referees, and UFO officials will take place at 6m at the Civic Center pavilion.
