No significant development happened over the weekend and yesterday in connection with the search for missing sisters Faloma and Maleina Luhk.

“No changes. Search is ongoing,” acting press secretary Teresa Kim told Saipan Tribune in an email.

The Department of Public Safety is mum whether it did a search operation over the weekend.

Police officer Jason Tarkong said he is not aware of any searches done by DPS over the weekend and yesterday. He said he will check with DPS Commissioner Ramon Mafnas for any development.

The mysterious disappearance of the Luhk sisters is entering its 7th week tomorrow, Wednesday.

Last week, DPS officers and Commonwealth Utilities Corp. personnel searched selected sewer manholes on the island. DPS also conducted underwater and on-ground searches along the cliff lines at Coral Ocean Point and Agingan Point last week.

FBI special agent Tom Simon has stated that the FBI remains committed to the investigation.

“As long as there are leads to be covered, we will be there with the police, side by side, working toward a resolution of this disturbing case,” said the Honolulu-based special agent.

A $50,000 cash reward has been put up for information on the whereabouts of 10-year-old Faloma and 9-year-old Maleina. The girls were reportedly last seen near a bus stop pavilion in As Teo on May 25.
