Red Inter stuns Korean Futsal
Red Inter ended Korean Futsal Team’s winning run in the 2011 Saipan Soccer School Futsal League after pulling off a 6-4 upset during the men’s division game Monday night at the TSL Sports Complex.
Korean Futsal absorbed its first loss in five games, as it collapsed on defense midway in the second half, allowing Red Inter three successive goals in a span of less than 10 minutes.
David Duenas started Red Inter’s string of goals in the second half when he found himself unguarded from the left sideline and kicked the ball that rolled in. Duenas’s goal broke the deadlock and gave Red Inter a 4-3 lead.
A few minutes later, it was Arkie Reusora’s turn to score, this time making a shot from the right sideline to stretch Red Inter’s advantage, 5-3.
Red Inter players moved much quicker and were more aggressive on offense than Korean Futsal in the second half, catching the latter off guard. Red Inter’s sixth and last goal came off another breakaway play when Otsuka Masatoshi made a cross to Edwin Cruz.
A Gil Chong Koo goal in the ensuing play stopped Red Inter’s rally, however Korean Futsal ran out of time to make a big comeback and failed to keep its perfect record.
Red Inter, which also drew one goal each from Dale Roberts and Matt Holley, improved to a 3-1-1 win-loss-draw card.

Wild Bill’s 6, Go Green 2[/B]
In the other men’s game, Wild Bill’s routed Go Green, 6-2.
With the win and Korean Futsal’s loss in the second match, Wild Bill’s is back on top of the eight-team field, tying the former with their identical 4-1-0 slates.
Jeeraphong Thoensaket led Wild Bill’s win, knocking in five goals, while Jiayua Guao scored the other goal for the team. Thoensaket hat a hat-trick in the first half, lifting Wild Bill’s to a 3-1 lead. Fradel Sedillo logged Go Green’s lone goal in the first 25 minutes of play.
In the second half, Thoensaket added two more, while Guao also lit up the scoreboard. Panapa Peteru posted Go Green’s only goal in the second half.
[B]WOMEN’SShirley’s B 8, Mellow Yellow 2[/B]
Also returning on the top spot is Shirley’s B, which whipped Mellow Yellow in the first women’s game, 8-2.
Shirley’s B now has a 5-0-0 record, gaining a share of the lead with sister team Shirley’s A. Mellow Yellow fell to a 2-3-0 mark, as it kept up with Shirley’s B only in the first half.
After 25 minutes, Shirley’s B led by only one, 2-1. Mikky Vargas and Alexa Vergara nailed one goal apiece for Shirley’s B, while Noi Horey put Mellow Yellow in the scoreboard in the first half.
Then in the second half, Shirley’s B pulled away behind the three goals from Vargas, two from Vergara, and one from Marriele Gariguez.

IT&E Awesome 6, Kulet’s Team 0[/B]
The other women’s game resulted to another blowout after IT&E Awesome shut out Kulet’s Tea, 6-0.
Natalie Hill top-scored for IT&E Awesome, tallying three goals. Michelle Masga added two, while Connie Camacho hit one.
IT&E Awesome moved up so solo second place with its 3-2-0 record, while Kulet’s Team dropped to a 1-3-0 slate.
