Firefighter who refused lie detector test leaves CNMI
The firefighter who refused to undergo a lie detector test in connection with the investigation into the disappearance of sisters Faloma and Maleina Luhk and resigned last month, has left the CNMI two weeks ago.
Sources disclosed yesterday that the former firefighter at the Department of Public Safety left Saipan on Aug. 6 at 4:20am for California.
Sources said it was not clear whether the firefighter is either going to see or has already reunited with his former wife and their two children.
The firefighter’s former wife and their children reportedly left their As Teo residence several weeks prior to the disappearance of the Luhk sisters.
Sources said the former DPS firefighter, who was tagged as a person of interest by investigators in the Luhk sisters’ case, recently sold some of his belongings and left his house in Kagman III.
Elbert Quitugua, the grandfather of the Luhk sisters, yesterday refused to comment about the firefighter’s departure.
Anicia Tomokane, Quitugua’s sister, also stated that she has no comment when the issue is about the firefighter.
DPS has stated that they don’t have any evidence to support any person of interest as being a participant in the children’s disappearance.
Next week will be three months since the disappearance of 10-year-old Faloma and 9-year-old Maleina. The girls were reportedly last seen near a bus stop pavilion in As Teo on May 25.
