On Friday, May 25, in the CNMI Supreme Court courtroom, Associate Justice John A. Manglona administered the State of Washington oath of attorney to Charlotte S. Sanders, a law clerk with the CNMI Supreme Court. Judiciary staff members were present at the ceremony.

Sanders graduated from the University of Washington School of Law in June 2011. In law school, she was the managing editor of production for the Pacific Rim Law and Policy Journal, a member of the Moot Court Honor Board, and a winner of the Judson A. Falkner Appellate Advocacy Competition. She obtained her B.A. in Political Science at the University of Washington with honors, was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and was president of the University of Washington’s Speech and Debate Society.

While on Saipan, Sanders has clerked for Justice Manglona who in his remarks following the administration of oath was most flattering of her contribution to the judiciary. Sanders intends to pursue civil litigation after her clerkship with the CNMI Supreme Court. (NMI Judiciary)
